IAT339 is a course about Web Design and Development in SFU 3 Level. Its prerequisite course is IAT235 (which focuses on UI/UX design, using Figma during Spring 2025 Semester).
In the IAT339 course syllabus for Summer 2025, there are 3 Major Projects:
Project 1: Mainly allows everyone to review the use of basic tags in HTML/CSS, and to shape the awareness of the importance of Style Guide, to ensure the formation of good habits to keep the style consistency in the same project and improving module re-usability.
Project 2: It’s a team assignment, which mainly aims to cultivate the skills of using Git in team tasks. During my semester, I have already mastered the use of skills such as Git, so I was granted the permission to complete this project individually. The goal of this project is to simulate a virtual company or organization and write a website related to its main functions.
Project 3: Needs to be completed alone, with the purpose of writing a complete personal website or portfolio website.
Here, I would like to share my Project 2.
In this HTML/CSS/JS involved project, I created a fictional website called “Hi-Res World (Hi-Res Forum)”
The website has the following background: In the past decade of my audiophile experience, I discovered that there are many over-priced “audiophile” products that are promoted through branding and marketing hype rather than actual quality, which is out of the “sound quality first” pursued by audiophiles. This platform hopes to recommend perceptible high-quality audio equipment to everyone in a scientific way.
Because its content is related to professional equipment, an angular design style is adopted. While highlighting solemnity and professionalism, the skewed style creates a sense of dynamism.
